Dan Frank, CEO

After serving eight years active duty in the Navy and five in the reserves, Dan spent more than a decade in technology sales, marketing and business development before founding VetAdvisor®. Dan’s guiding belief has been that technology can be harnessed to change the world, and in VetAdvisor® he has found a way to use his expertise to improve the lives of military veterans and their families. Dan won an honorable mention from the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Center for Veterans Enterprises as the 2008 Enterprising Veteran of the Year; was selected as the 2009 Vetrepreneur of the Year by the National Veteran Owned Business Association (NaVOBA); has provided testimony to the Veteran’s Affairs Subcommittee Health Hearing on Overcoming Rural Health Care Barriers: Use of Innovative Wireless Health Technology Solutions; and was recognized as a 2010 Unsung Hero awardee by General Services Administration (GSA). He has been listed on the Inc. 5000 and received both the SmartCEO Future 50 Award and the SmartCEO 100 Award. He was selected as a Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2012 Finalist for Greater Washington.

Jennifer Roseman, Executive Vice-President, VetAdvisor Services

As Executive Vice President of VetAdvisor Services, Jennifer implements and directs proactive veteran coaching programs for Three Wire Systems. In her current role, she improves veterans’ access to reintegration services in the areas of wellness, behavioral health, financial and career transition coaching. She has more than ten years of experience managing personnel providing veteran-related services. During her tenure, she has provided direction and oversight for over 100,000 veteran coaching sessions.

Jennifer has experience in the hiring and supervision of Department of Defense Victim Advocates and as a Victim Rights Manager/Counselor. She is also adept in Government Contract Project/Program Management as well as private sector contracting. She has spoken to organizations and at conferences about student veterans and veterans in the workplace. Her recent speaking engagements have included presentations to the World EAP Conference; the PA Veteran Forum; the National Associations of Rural Mental Health; SugarCon; IVMF V-WISE; and the EAPA Pittsburgh Chapter.

Jennifer serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association for Rural Mental Health (NARMH) and the Saint Francis University Social Work Advisory Board. She is a Certified Peer Support Specialist Supervisor, has a Bachelors in Social Work from Saint Francis University where she was honored with the Social Work Student-of-the-Year for 2003, and a Masters in Arts in Criminal Justice Administration from Mount Aloysius College. She was also named to the 2013 Top 100 People in Central Pennsylvania and Beyond.

Coaching Team

Elizabeth Curfman, Program Manager

Elizabeth Curfman serves as the Program Manager for VetAdvisor Services and provides oversight to all coaching contracts ran within the call centers and remotely. Additionally, Liz acts as the Chair of an employee-run group that plans in-office activities and quarterly service projects. To date, the group has raised funds and donated items totaling over $8,000 to causes both locally and nationally.

Liz started her professional life as an English Teacher after receiving her degree in Secondary English Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2007. During college, Liz served on the board of a Community Service sorority that actively raised money and provided goods and services to local organizations. Service has always been something close to her heart, and she continues to provide service through her role with VetAdvisor. She also is an advocate for the American Cancer Society through Relay for Life.

Jason Schiffhauer, VA Choice Program Lead

Jason is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, having earned a BA in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. He has over ten years of clinical experience in a variety of treatment settings, ranging from Partial Hospitalization Services to Drug and Alcohol Treatment to Community Mental Health. He also has a background in providing clinical supervision to Master’s Level Therapists working within a treatment team setting.

With Three Wire, Jason helps to oversee and direct daily operations of the Three Wire Behavioral Health HUB under the VA Choice Program, managing the program leads and call center veteran representatives.  In this role, Jason provides guidance and direction on programmatic operating procedures as well as strategic planning for meeting goals and service level agreements.  Jason works to communicate program directives and guidance to the team in their mission to assist veterans in accessing behavioral health referrals and authorizations. His program management duties include serving as a subcontractor liaison with prime contractor management as well as being responsive to emergent client needs, process change management, and crisis management.  Jason assists in program data analysis, surge management, onboard hiring, and collection of program metrics for evaluation and reporting.

Jason previously served as Coaching and Outreach Manager of the MarineAdvisor contract, overseeing the delivery of coaching services to active duty and reservist Marines in order to facilitate goal attainment and quality of life improvement. Jason managed efforts to connect Marines with appropriate resources and necessary referrals in the areas of behavioral health, wellness, finance, sleep, and career transition. He also coordinated outreach efforts aimed at informing the targeted Marine Corps population about the coaching program and enrolling them in services.

Whitney Veres, Coaching Supervisor and Lead Behavioral Health and Wellness Coach

As the VetAdvisor Coaching Supervisor, Whitney is responsible for the oversight of the coaching team within many VetAdvisor contracts. Her role of Lead Behavioral Health and Wellness Coach is to ensure all veterans and family members are receiving appropriate services for their identified needs.

Whitney earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in counseling and her Master of Science in Community Counseling both from Mount Aloysius College, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She has previously worked as an outpatient drug and alcohol counselor, and has received special training including the Criminal Justice Addictions Professional Certificate and the Addiction Counselor Certificate through Mount Aloysius College.  She is mindful of healthy eating, sleeping patterns, and exercise, encouraging a holistic approach to veteran wellness. Whitney is certified to conduct Freedom From Smoking ® clinics, as she has been trained by the American Lung Association®. She also successfully completed the Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification Training accredited by the Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence (ATTUD)®. She is a member of the National Association for Rural Mental Health (NARMH) and the Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence (ATTUD).

Jessica Cox, VA Choice Program Lead

As the Program Lead for the VA Choice Contract, Jessica is in charge of 55+ representatives who assist veterans with obtaining behavioral health appointments when the veteran is unable to receive the required services within the VA system.

Jessica graduated from Juniata College with a degree in Healthcare Sciences and has a background in biology, chemistry, psychology, and sociology.  Jessica has nearly a decade of behavioral health experience, bridging several settings and populations.  Jessica performed the role of intake and utilization specialist for a peer support organization and has also worked in autistic and emotional support classrooms as a therapeutic support staff (TSS).  Jessica was a Crisis Counselor at UPMC Altoona for several years, working with acute mental health and substance abuse emergencies.   Jessica’s role at VetAdvisor allows her to combine her knowledge of behavioral health with her passion to give back to those who have served our country.
